The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian - Sherman Alexie, Ellen Forney

This book is just incredible! I finished it within 2 days. Junior has a LOT of problems and this book shows his struggle of life and overcoming his issues and finding himself. It reminded me of the perks of being a wallflower as both Charlie and Junior have issues fitting in and being 'unpopular' or a 'loser'. It really nearly made me cry! It was such a powerful and moving book. The writing-style was very simple and easy to read (even if you're 7years old) but I didn't let that distract me at all because the story was just really powerful. Junior is smart, he has health issues and he doesn't seem to be able to fit in anywhere! That sounds so familiar. I felt like I could relate to a lot of what Junior was going through in a really weird way because if I'm honest. Junior and I are not that different. I loved this book!

  1. I too loved this book, and so did my grandson. I've briefly met Sherman Alexie and his writing comes straight from his very big heart.
