Ugly Love - Colleen Hoover

 Ugly Love - Colleen Hoover
"When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future."  - Goodreads

I smiled. I frowned. I gasped. I laughed. I screamed. I cried. I felt all the feels and I loved it. This was a heartwrenching novel. Being my first Colleen Hoover read, I had such high expectations and she didn't disappoint. I'm trying to come up with a way to write this review, but I'm still just lost for words. I don't know where to start, I don't know what to disclose. I just know that you must must read this.

I
've decided to start with the characters, because I loved each and every one of them. I wanted them to all be happy and live happily ever after (although what kind of a book would that be if they were just constantly happy all the time). Tate was such a relatable character, everything she said to herself and to Miles is definitely something I would say. I feel that I would have definitely done the exact same thing as her if I were in her situation and that really helped with the emotional connection I had to this book. Miles was both a great person, and a horrible person and I didn't think he'd ever have a good enough reason for the way he was, but boy was I wrong. I love the character development that takes place in this book, it's subtle and it's realistic. Honestly? I want to be Tate. Even after all she went through.

I loved the different time periods in this book, it constantly had me guessing, wondering what happened, wondering how the present day became what it was. It was SO good. I found myself reading and reading, for hours on end, faster and faster to find out what happened. I needed to know what happened.

The emotions that this book pulled out of me were honestly, intense. At points, I was holding my breath. My heart stopped. My eyes couldn't move fast enough to read the book. I don't remember another book that made me feel that way.

Colleen Hoover's writing style is beautiful, it's poetic. I don't normally notice an author's writing style, I don't normally comment on it, I just comment on the novel itself, but I couldn't ignore it this time. I can't stress how much I love her writing. I need to read more books by her. I need to read them all.

If you want to cry. Read this book. If you want to laugh. Read this book. If you want romance. Read this book. If you want steamy sex scenes. Read this book.

I rated this book 4.5* on Goodreads and I highly highly recommend it.
